Which Information is Retrieved from Jira When PM Integration Is Enabled?
When you enable Project Management (PM) Integration between CodeScene and Jira, CodeScene retrieves a limited and specific set of information from your Jira issues. The integration is designed to provide insights into development trends, cycle times, and delivery performance while maintaining minimal data access.
Fields Retrieved from Jira
Once the integration is configured, CodeScene reads the following fields from Jira:
created – The date and time when the issue was created.
updated – The date and time of the last update to the issue.
labels – Any labels assigned to the issue.
issuetype – The type of the issue, such as Story, Bug, or Task.
status – The current workflow status of the issue (e.g., “In Progress,” “Done,” “Closed”).
These fields are used to correlate Jira issues with corresponding code changes, enabling CodeScene to compute metrics like lead time and cycle time.
Optional Field: Cost
In addition to the standard fields above, there is an optional cost field that can be configured.
This field allows teams to map Jira issues to effort or cost data, making it possible to include economic impact in CodeScene’s delivery performance metrics.
Data Privacy and Minimal Access
CodeScene’s Jira integration follows a principle of minimal data retrieval.
Only the fields listed above are accessed, and no other issue details, comments, attachments, or personal data are retrieved or stored. This ensures that the integration provides valuable insights while respecting your organization’s data privacy and compliance requirements.
